Today is my one year wedding anniversary. So here are comics for you.
First, I quick mention of two comics who have some special guest stars.
Liberty Meadows and Ink Pen 10/24/10
If I were Cindy Bear I would have a drinking problem too. I mean they are making a CGI movie of Yogi Bear with Dan Akroyd as the voice of Yogi. Dan Akroyd! Oh, well. I will just let you be the judge of it.
My Cage 10/24/10
I guess it's okay for My Cage to go sappy the week before it comes to an end. I know how it is to go back to a place you hated to work because you do it for your family. It sucks. I hate it. Luckily, there's alcohol to help get me through it.
Hi & Lois 10/24/10
Look how dark and depressing today's Hi & Lois is. I know the Flagston's marriage is a suburban nightmare but their depression is attaching itself to casual passers-by as Hi's awful karaoke skills echo in their ears like a death march.
Brewster Rockit: Space Guy! 10/24/10
Offered without commentary.
Argyle Sweater 10/24/10
Don't worry Mr. Kidney, someone else will want you. But usually, kidneys are rejected while in the body so does Mr. Spognola's body have its own little universe inside of it?
Family Circus 10/24/10
But Papa Keane spends every night crouched behind the shrubbery........
Born Loser 10/24/10
Maybe...if that was a real thing.

Comics I Don't Understand
Here are the comics I read today that I just did not understand. Maybe you'll understand them. Also, check out the original Comics I Don't Understand where CIDU Bill does a much better job.
Neurotica 12/22/09
Is he sick? What's that thing on his blanket? A cat? Because he sleeps with a cat, does this mean he's hacking up a hairball? While Big Al, the gal does draw better than me, what's going on in this comic is a complete mystery to me.
Zack Hill 12/22/09
I'm assuming the joke is they were supposed to split up but ended up together because everyone wants some form of electronic device? If so, then the looks of utter distress in the last panel are completely uncalled for.
Animal Crackers 12/22/09
Gnats apparently have homes and celebrate human holidays. Good to know.
That's Life 12/22/09
Is...is it funny because she's just a little girl and she can play very complicated Beethoven concertos? If that's the joke, then Mike Twohy needs to brush up on his comic strip history.
Liberty Meadows 12/22/09
I love a good Simpsons cameo as much as the next person but what does this mean? Liberty Meadows is in Springfield? Chief Wiggum and Lou are moonlighting as Liberty Meadows police officers?

New Years Eve Eve Comics Review 2008
You know how lots of places are doing "best of 2008" posts and other interesting compilations of this year's junk? That takes work, and I don't feel like it. So instead you will be treated to the regular old DCR. Maybe next year! Or maybe once this thing has been going for a year, I don't know.
Flo and Friends 12/30/08
Can blizzard really be used as a verb? I don't think that's proper use of that word. Should I be worried that I'm already losing memories to make space for new ones and I'm only 24? Two days spent playing Yahtzee don't sound like the kind of thing you would want to remember, plus I'm pretty sure they were drunk or high the whole time otherwise they would have found something else to do.
Liberty Meadows 12/30/08
Go read my comment yesterday on Broom Hilda and then read this comic today. Anybody else creeped out? Am I going to ask questions all day instead of writing funny observations?
Luann 12/30/08
Anything over three people qualifies as an orgy, sounds like a good time! Thank God tomorrow is New Years Ever so this storyline will have to be resolved by then.
Wizard of ID 12/30/8
Would you really go YEEOOW! if you touched a cold eyepiece to your face? Maybe if it touched your balls, but then you'd be using the telescope incorrectly.

Happy Christmas to All
Well, if you're reading this you probably should get back to your family or you have no family which sucks, but The Daily Comics Review is here for you. What with my first post being on Christmas Day you must think I have no family, well I have one but there is a long lag time in between celebrations so I have more than enough time. I'll be with you the rest of the week so I hope you like what you see.
Wizard of Id 12/25/08
Doesn't this defeat the purpose of Santa. I mean if prisoners get presents then why are the rest of us being good? Also why does the guard look like he just had sex? Did he rape the prisoner in his sleep or something?
Lola 12/25/08
I find it hard to believe that Santa would hate his job, he only has to work one night a year! And he's been doing it for centuries now, you'd think that if he hated it he would've quit by now.
Liberty Meadows 12/25/08
And to end the day we have a comic that has nothing to do with Christmas. Really the only question I have is How did his hand get chopped off? The caption in the first panel says "In Real Life" so the light saber can't really work. Of course this is coming from someone that accepts a talking monkey that has no hand and isn't in the hospital.
Well folks, that's all I've got today. Join me tomorrow for Boxing Day madness. What is Boxing Day you ask? Well tune in tomorrow and you might find out.

Saturday December 20th
Bear with me, folks.
As you know, I've asked for the comics to be assigned, and when I looked at the comics this afternoon my brain just shut off.
Why the assignment? And apparently, Bryce is sending me comics he liked this week, and I do better with stupid comics, sucky comics. But I want somebody else to pick the comics. Do you know how many comics there are out there? Without the webcomics, even. At just one comics site, there are too many that suck over a given week or day, I don't know how Josh does it.
Which is why I've been telling him (Bryce, this blog's owner guy, not Josh) to pick a damn theme. I've picked Pluggers, and while I regret it every day, at least I don't have to wonder what the hell I'll blather on about today. (Smooth.)
Onto the comics. I want to get this over with.
If this sucks, well, it's his fault for giving me a bad assignment. And no, you can't give me grades!
Cul De Sac is the first one, from the 18th. I've only seen this comic here, and maybe at CIDU, but I'm too lazy to look it up now.
So I know nothing about this story line, if it is one.
This art is not bad, but, not to be mean, but it sounds like all the eyes would look like that. I can't draw for shit, so don't listen to me about art. Also, when I like a comic's writing, if the art isn't that great, it doesn't matter as much.
Maybe you have to get into this like you Get Fuzzy? I see a self-contained punchline, and it's actually pretty silly funny. Not too bad.
Frazz is next, from the 19th. I've seen Frazz at CIDU a lot, and it looks good. I probably should be reading it.
This confused me at first, because I know enough to know that Frazz works at a school, and there are no registers outside of the cafeteria (and maybe the bookstore at a big and rich enough high school) at school. But there are registers involved with heating systems.
Context is your friend.
Snowglobes actually suck. They are boring, because they just sit there. I mean, many things do, but they have this added factor of "shake me and it will snow" that promises excitement and it just doesn't deliver. I don't know, maybe I just haven't been exposed to enough in my life.
Plus, I want snow. It did snow on the first, I saw it, I did! But it didn't stick, something about it being above freezing.
God, I miss snow.
I didn't talk about the webcomics Bryce included last week, so I'll give it a try this time. He included 3, and I've only heard of one, though I recognize the title of the other.
Liberty Meadows from the 19th. I kind of recognize this one.
This doesn't disgust me, I'm no prude. I am, however, a girl, as my name can attest. Straight women and gay men read comics too.
Also, does that say that her top is made from a trash bag? Thank goodness she's a drawing, I don't think that would work.
Here is Amazing Super Powers, a webcomic I've never heard of before today, and never want to see again. The art bugs me, though that may have more to do with this strip's content, from the 18th:
See what I mean? I can see why this is funny. I also appreciate that this can only be done in a webcomic. But it's all so... ugh, which it's supposed to be, I guess. I mean, the dad gets off looking at birds while in his son's treehouse. And they have no pupils. And the birds in their world are ugly. Maybe that's what bugs me the most? If it was a normal looking bird, then I wouldn't mind.
This just creeps me the fuck out.
To cleanse the palate a bit, we have Pop Culture Shock Therapy up next, which I know and like. It's not the always funniest thing out there, but it's pretty good. This is from the 19th.
I liked this okay, until now, when I started overthinking it. No, I'm not saddened by the idea of living snow creatures (with the aid of magic). I miss Calvin and Hobbes! I love his snowmen!
To end on a high note, we have Cow and Boy from the 18th.
Oh my sweet lord that is funny. I love it. Mind cleansed, mood restored (I was in a blue mood earlier).
And all because of the socialism induced angry crunches.
Background info - don't read Cow and Boy, probably should, see it here and at CIDU, probably.
Well, we did it. When the print comics make me twirl my hair, I have learned I should focus on the webcomics. Or all of them.
Whatever.
Man, this took a long time and all I did was check to make sure that Liberty Meadows and Amazing Super Powers were webcomics. (Don't know why I did the second one, that would never fly in a paper.)

Tuesday Comics for Decemberish Folks
I DID IT! Maybe not a huge as promised but just as offensive and funny(hopefully) as ever. Enjoy!
Lio 11/30/08
If you can't celebrate your birthday for more than 1 day, is it even worth celebrating?
Family Circus 12/2/08
Hmm Dolly sounds like it must be a FICTION BOOK! OOHHHH! GO MEN, GO MEN, OI OI OI! ::beats chest triumphantly:: Misogynists for the win!
Liberty Meadows 12/2/08
There may be no surer way to get myself in to the doghouse than to post this comic immediately after the last comic and commentary but the DCR could use a good controversy. Gotta love Frank Cho. Lets go womens lib!
Compu-toon 12/1/08
With the things people do on the internet, you can be assured this is something you would only ever see in a fictional cartoon setting. Do not closely examine this panel, you will find over 150 things that make no sense. Keep it simple man!
Cul de Sac 12/1/08
Round things out with some Cul de Sac! For those who don't know, the family in this strip has the last name Otterloop. Initially this strip was so revered in my mind for the Alice character but Petey is almost giving her a run for her money. Uh-Oh Baby has aparently grown up fast and become Uh-Oh Mom, unless that is just all mothers with young children.

Funky Winkerbean Forsees the Coming of the End
Funky Winkerbean 11/11/08
WATCH OUT, A TUESDAY DCR UPDATE AHHHHHH!! I have no idea what this gentleman's name is but I'd have to guess "old Mario" from his plumber-esque good looks. What's the funniest thing you can think of that this comic might be alluding to? The comments section would love to know.
Mark Trail 11/11/08
You might just want to leave him be Mark. Somebody named "Rabbit" already has no dignity and those with nothing to lose are known to be voracious fighters.
Liberty Meadows 11/11/08
South Park got it wrong when they speculated the next species to challenge humanity would be sea otters. Squirrels used to be a rare sight but their numbers have been increasing in cities and suburbs across America at an alarming rate. The furry revolution could be upon us at any time, STAY VIGILANT FELLOW CITIZENS!
Snapshots 11/10/08
Ask if she does pedicures too Bob.

The Willing Suspension of Disbelief 10/15/08
October is almost half way over already? How time flies when you're having fun. We're still waiting on our first comment-worthy Halloween themed comic strips, which may be a good sign that there is more to make comics about than Jack O' Lanterns for the whole month.
Blondie 10/15/08
Look out the layout of the Bumsted living room. One chair facing the TV with another facing off in to the corner of oblivion. Blondie's house design mantra must have been "Fuck Feng Shui".
Ferd'nand 10/15/08
Even the worst boxing commission in the nation wouldn't let you in to the ring with a hat on, give me a break Ferd'nand!
Liberty Meadows 10/15/08
Liberty Meadows may have hit on something here. We may have finally discovered what it takes to make Cathy enjoyable to read. Twice the legal driving limit.
We The Robots 10/15/08
Spend the rest of your days hiding it and pretending it doesn't exist, that's what you're gonna do Mikey.

Two Days of Comic Strip Goodness
So we have a double-dose of comics today since I didn't have time yesterday to get everything done. The rest of the week will be better so deal with it!
Amazing Super Powers 9/22/08
My favorite flash banner of all time was the one where you punch George Bush in the face.
For Heaven's Sake 9/22/08
Rev. Righteous is such an amazing name, too bad it has been relegated to this lame-o. "How does your father see in to my private restroom?"
Liberty Meadows 9/22/08
So a male pig with "post-operative swelling", does that make them "poobs" then? Frank Cho, you are disturbed and hilarious.
Frank and Ernest 9/23/08
Horrible, horrible puns! I guess it's better than the old sexist F&E from the 50's that would have just been Wonder Woman cleaning the Hall of Justice.
Dilbert 9/23/08
Have you ever been talking with tech support for 30+ minutes and then you get disconnected? You call back and have to explain the whole thing over again and you know these people are sitting in the same room, laughing about your problem. You know this, because it's exactly what you would be doing if you had to work their shit job.
F Minus 9/23/08
Just a quick word of advice to all those kids who are going off to college: don't major in art history either.
The Flying McCoys 9/22/08
This is the last time DCR will post a comic about track marks and that's a promise. At first glance you're just kind of grossed out, until you take note of the fathers facial expression and then you don't want to eat lunch any more.

Bryce Explains Comics and Lazyness
So yesterday I actually spent all day at work..... working. After work it was 175 degrees out, thus making the loft where my computer is located unbearable hot. So that is why there was no Thursday Haiku Review. I promise next week's post will be twice as good but with the same number of syllables. Now that I've explained myself I have some awesome news to share with all the DCR fans out there! Brian Hall, author extraordinaire, fellow comics critic and owner of Losers Are Made Not Born, will be joining the staff of the Daily Comics Review! Brian will take over comic reviews for Saturdays and possible more duties in the future, so tune in tomorrow and leave him a comment if you like what he has to say! We're very excited to have him on staff!
Least I Could Do 8/14/08
You've always wondered what happened to Gumby after his fantastically successful children's show was canceled? He's been in Vegas drowning his sorrows ever since.
Liberty Meadows 8/15/08
I wont be explaining the bizarre storyline Liberty Meadows has been following the last few week, lets just all hope that it's finally over. Any group called Rimmer's Rangers needs t-shirt and membership cards so they can show off to all their friends.
The Amazing Spider-Man 8/15/08
Not a whole lot to comment on about here, I just feel it's important to document any time there is a bitch slap in the comics, for the benefit of future generations.
Brainwaves 8/15/08
If squirrels could shoot webs out of their asses and poison bite you to death, I wouldn't have to feel so bad every time I see one that got hit by a car. Brake for squirrels!
Overcompensating 8/14/08
If you haven't been paying attention to geopolitical or cryptozoological news the last few days, this comic should apprise you of the current situation for both fields. You're welcome.
Jane's World 8/15/08
YES, YES GOD YES, TAKE THE MUFFIN!!! Nothing says TGIF like cartoon boobies.
