Better late than never?

Hey everyone. I'm back again, so let's get right down to the question on everyone's lips: is Annie still insane?

Annie, 8/20/09
Photobucket
An ancient Atlantean with a pet dinosaur interacting with cowboys while trying to keep said dinosaur from getting spotted by the Air Force. Yep, still pretty insane. What's more is that Annie seems to be resigned to her fate of being in an insane comic strip.

The fact that there's such things at catscopes is probably even more insane than Annie. On a different note, I've always wondered why Tina looks so depressed in every single comic strip. She constantly looks like she's on the verge of tears, which is not very groovy.

Frankenstein's monster would suck pretty badly at basketball, I think. He'd try to do a jump shot only to realize he left his feet behind. He may be able to dunk, however, but I don't think his wrists would be very good at dribbling.

This would sound no different from normal talking, unless she's just saying the letters. In which case, that's really freaking stupid. I do like the name Katie Hunter, though. It deserves to be used for something much better than a lame one-panel cartoon.

Natural Selection, 8/20/09

Part of me feels bad about picking on this cartoon, but the geeky part of me is shoving that part out of the way. Godzilla was played by a series of Asian men, all of relatively normal stature save for the fact that they had pretty good strength and stamina. They needed it because the costume weighed so much. And with that, I'm off.

Shorter than usual

Fairly short today, folks. Sometimes the funnies just aren't that funny to mock.

Better Half, 7/30/09

The best way to spice up a marriage is cannibalism, and I suppose that the best spice for cannibalism is just barbecuing human flesh. On a side note, did you know that this couple's last name is Parker? That's three comic strips with protagonists with the surname Parker. (The other two are Peter and Mary Jane Parker from Spider-Man and the Parkers from Judge Parker. You can find commentary for both of them at the Meekrat Entertainment Group, amazingly enough.)

Mother Goose and Grimm, 7/30/09
Photobucket
Look at that thing in the background, behind the jerky looking guy in the "Wash U" shirt. What is that thing supposed to be? It looks sort of like a castle, or perhaps the front of a building, but there's nothing beyond the door. Is it just some sort of elaborate arch, out in the middle of nothing? Why even put something like that in the strip? They could have just left it out and put another tree there, and there'd be no cause for this confusion. Also, watch out for Speed Racer. He's a demon, and he's going to be chasing after SOMEONE.

Tina's Groove, 7/30/09

If he was Amish, he wouldn't be dating you. I'm pretty sure they have rules against Amish people establishing romantic relationships with those who aren't Amish. Unless he's going through that thing that some Amish people go through where they live outside the Amish community for a little while, in which case that guy's pretty far gone and I don't think he'll be going back. In which case, he's not Amish anymore, but formerly Amish. Yes, I am lacking content and things to say about the strips I picked out, so I am stretching these commentaries out as far as I can.

My Cage, 7/30/09

Is that something you can actually get for your phone? The outgoing ring-tone thing? If it is, I have a new goal for what I want to get with my next phone.

Saturday Happened Again, Looks Like I Owe Somebody A Dollar

Welcome, true believers, to the first DCR Saturday free from that tyrant Bryce. Since he's off in the drug underworld or whatever it is that he's doing, These are my choices. They don't encompass the week because I didn't have access to Bryce's magical comic machine that spits out all the worst comic strips. Rest assured, next Saturday will have the worst comics of next week. And I formally extend a welcome to our two new writers, I apologize that I do not yet know your names and am too lazy to go read Bryce's post that included them.

Onward, to adventure. Well, maybe not adventure, but comics.

File under Horrible Word Play.

And does anyone under 14 or so even know who Hugh Hefner is? They shouldn't.

Ginger Meggs 5/15/09

The biggest problem with fishing for silverfish? They aren't fish and if you are near them, you are in a disgusting place. They should just go to the nearest public bathroom, there's alway gross things in there.

Crankshaft 5/15/09
Photobucket
What is 'retroactive arousal'? Would that mean that now you remember yourself being aroused when you didn't used to remember yourself being aroused? Or that your memory of the event now makes you aroused? Come on Crankshaft, if you're going to invent new forms of arousal, you should at least have them well defined.

Oh and I almost forgot: *hurl*

Between Friends 5/15/09
Photobucket
Those of you that are lucky enough to be my Facebook friend read an insightful thought by me on that very site. It was about how ridiculous Facebook status updates are and how it would be exceedingly easy to burgel or murder someone based on their Facebook status updates. I swear that some people want to be stalked because they make it so easy to track their every more by telling you exactly what they're doing. We don't need to fear Big Brother peering over our shoulder anymore because we willingly broadcast everything we do to a public audience. People, we need to retake some of our privacy. Even though we gave it away voluntarily, it is still ours and if you don't take it back, someone just might stab you while you are picking up Tommy from daycare then getting ready for my last evening of working at McDonalds!

And now back to your regularly scheduled sarcasm.

I am what some would call an alcohol snob. But I graduated from an actual school of Bartending so I get the final say in what is a good drink and what isn't a good drink. Wine mixed with beer is not a good drink. Ignoring the fact that it would give you an enormous headache, it would taste terrible. Wheat and grapes are only good together if you have grape jelly on your toast.

Be warned: the last comic review contains graphic language and will be offensive to the majority of people, if you do not want to read this kind of content, stop now.

Tiger 5/15/09

So he feels greedy when he's giving BJs to strangers for money, but not when he swallows the fruits of his labor? Weird. I just feel ashamed and disgusted when I give BJs to strangers for money. He must be charging more than $10 a head (pun intended).

Daily comics 5/2/08

The last to days have been CRAZY but here is todays comic update, woohaw!

Bizarro 5/2/08

Finally a reality show I would actually watch! I have been a fan of Bizarro ever since it started running in the local paper a few years ago when they FINALLY got rid of Marmaduke. Humor and Where's Waldo in every strip! In case you haven't noticed Dan Piraro slips in a slice of pie and a stick of dynamite in every one of his strips. Sometimes you get little alien ships too!

Popeye 5/2/08

Popeye makes no sense. He has a Sea Hag on his ship who looks just like him although she is supposed to be a woman. What? She has also been playing this magical flute, but not with her mouth like most people would expect. That's right she's playing it with her colon. Can someone explain?

Tina's Groove 5/2/08

This is a new comic for me and I haven't been reading for very long but something is wrong with Tina. Her eyes are always sad, like she can feel the grinding of her soul at this pointless waitressing job and how she has lost all semblance of who she was or what her dreams were growing up and how she actually wanted to do something with her life! Or something like that. Apparently the hostess at her job is dumber than your average hostess, which is hard to top. Not only did she somehow walk under a 2 step ladder, but she thought somehow the fall from two feet off the ground was a danger. I don't know maybe she has osteoporosis.

Wee Pals 5/2/08

Wee Pals is yet another one of those WTF strips. You can't get over finding out the main character is named "Nipper" and then the next pannel smacks you with the biggest shit-eating grin I have ever seen in the comics. And you finish reading then agrily shout "WHAT THE FUCK". Do you think Nipper is short for something? Nippleton? What horrible parents he must have.
