It's Monday. I hear there's going to be a podcast tonight with the DCR folks (including myself). And, although I am unaware how you will find it to listen to as of right now... you should figure it out because I'm sure it's going to be funny. If I find out the how, I'll let you all know!

I don't know about you, but I saw that coming! What a cut-up! This joke(?) is so terrible I think I might want to chainsaw him... Sheesh.

Heck, I'd be happy with a phone that had some water resistance. If you've ever gotten your phone wet and tried to turn it back in because it doesn't work, you know what I'm talking about. Screw tweeting, I'd just be happy that the screen turned on.

Animal Crackers (03.22.10)

This is dumb. Why would ants build a rocket? Yes, that's right, I'm skipping "how" and going straight to "why". I just don't get it. They're ants. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this, but still. Ants dig tunnels, gather food, make sexy-time with the queen, make more ants, bite people like jerks, and get spayed with ant-killer. This is the life of ants. Not rockets.

Unless of course, they stole a model rocket from a park and have been planning their leap to the top of the food chain with their rocket abilities. Good luck, ants. It didn't work for Russia and it won't work for you!

What the heck is this? Another comic about ants? And equally as nonsensical? What are the odds? I'd say that the odds are pretty darn good. Ants are not funny. Someone prove me wrong. Please. And don't try going to Woody Allen's portrayal of a depressed ant either because I'll point you right to Sylvester Stallone's.

This kid is awesome. The fact that he's able to gather that many slugs in one place is amazing. Maybe he's like Willard. Just... with slower, less threatening companions.

Retarded Dinosaurs are Bad at Math

Today's batch actually includes some comics that made me laugh because they were, get this, funny.

But, there's also a few that I just have to rag on. There's so many comics out there, it's hard to know which ones you should make fun of and which ones you should just ignore and hope it vanishes into obscurity. It makes me wonder sometimes if sites like this are keeping some comics alive when they really should be taken out back and shot.

However, if you want, there's totally a new comic up over at Carafe (which today, I will just link to instead of integrating it into my review... gotta keep it fresh)!

Aside from this mom going waaaaay overboard in the last panel, that kid is totally right. He's simply learning from the greatest wealth of knowledge on the Internet: Wikipedia.

The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee (03.16.10)

See, this one is funny because there's a cow in the kid's living room, and that old man was trying to convince him that it was a bad idea. That kid, although VERY awkward looking, is awesome.

Okay, so I laughed pretty good at this one. It's funny. Deal with it. That crazy guy is going to murder you someday, so laugh at this now.

I didn't necessarily want to draw undue attention to this stupid comic, but let's be honest, people really must think this is funny. You know, like, older people maybe? I'm not sure. All I know is that there's a ton of commercials about this same thing, but I don't find it all that crazy or funny. Most people would be like, "Didn't you read my Facebook?" "My tweet about dinner?" But, the fact of the matter is that this comic is just about two incredibly lazy people and lord knows it took that woman a decade to type that darned text message anyway when it probably took her two steps to be in the living room. Besides, what is it? Odorless food? Gosh, when dinner is ready at my house, I'm ready to eat, not waiting around for someone to tell me it's ready. I'm nearly shoving my wife out of the way to get to the food. Maybe that's just me...

Todd the Dinosaur (03.16.10)

When I first saw this, all I could hope for was for this dinosaur to be retarded. That's why he got a D on a math test. He can't do math. He's a dinosaur, very similar to a book I just made called, My Friend Terrence the T-Rex. But, then I read all the way to the end, and found that his conclusion was equally as funny. It's always good to throw in a Family Circus jab, but I still think that dinosaur has a mental deficiency.

Zits (03.16.10)

How in the world could that be "in a good way"? Ever. On any planet? Someone help me understand why the dad had to say one more thing. The bit about the coupon book was humorous, but the dad just kind of screwed up the punchline by saying something idiotic. And not in a good way.

Today is Monday. There are comics on Monday. Therefore, it stands to reason that we will make fun of said comics. I mean, I did poorly at math, but I'm pretty sure that adds up.

I'm pretty sure this isn't okay. I don't care who Leopold is, there is never a time for a ghost in the pants. It's also illegal in 48 states. I think we all know which states it's legal in.

If Bill Clinton really talks about Monica Lewinsky with Hilary... I doubt it goes down like this. This is probably why political cartoons are normally one panel. Just saying.

A Tiny Little Saturday

Bryce had only one comic for me this week and I was too busy to dig through all the terrible comics to find something more, so you get one from him and one from me.



The Dinette Set 4/28/09

Do you know why The Dinette Set sucks? It's because the main joke is never the one that gets worked on. The writer seems to mail it in for the main punchline and then focuses on getting as many background things as possible into the panel. The problem with this is that none of it is funny. There is nothing about the above panel that is humorous. Not one thing. Except maybe how incredibly terrible it is.



The Underfold: Blog of comics and other stuff 100th post special

This isn't something I usually do here, but since there was nothing else, I figured it would be OK. This is a special edition of The Underfold that Brian Russell was kind enough to write and draw for my 100th post of The Blog of comics and other stuff. It's funny because I asked him to draw something and then later I said that I didn't need him to draw something and then later I said that it would be okay if he wanted to draw something anyways even though I wasn't planning on using anything and then he drew something and I used it.
