RRAWR!!

Another glorious Wednesday has come! Well maybe not glorious, but it is Wednesday.

I don't usually plug my own stuff, but if you like what you see here on Wednesdays you should go here, where you can find stuff that's mostly like this here. Also, other things!

TOBY 1/13/10

Insane electronic pimp is now a part of my vocabulary. Thank you Corey Pandolph, thank you.

The City 1/13/10

I find this to be an accurate depiction of former Vice President Dick Cheney. Maybe a little exaggerated, but not much.

Last Kiss 1/13/10

I'm not sure what the hell is going on, I just like the spiky word balloon.

Garfield Minus Garfield 1/13/10
Garfield minus Garfield only works when Garfield is an essential part of the comic. This particular strip doesn't change at all when Garfield is removed.

I think this one should have added Odie doing something. That could be a new thing right? Garfield Plus Odie. That might have potential.

Uneasiness

Today's basically things that made me uneasy when I was reading the comics today. I hope they make you uneasy, too! Or at least that my unease provides you with some entertainment.

Gasoline Alley, 12/18/09

I'd bet that kindly old bearded man is actually Santa Claus in disguise, here to give us a heaping helping of the true meaning of Christmas. Which, in this case, is paying $500 to save a cat. Truly it is a time of miracles.

Safe Havens, 12/18/09

I was going to try and ignore this, but I can't. Seeing a young man lust after Santa Claus (who is actually a young lady in Santa Claus' body at the moment, but even so) is very disturbing.

Brenda Starr, 12/18/2009

You know what else is disturbing? That drawing of Patch in the first panel. "I'M GONNA TEAR OUT YOUR THROAT!" he seems to be saying, and considering how he seems to be a dog wearing an eye-patch, I think he could do it.

Do you know what's most disturbing, though?

Garfield Minus Garfield, 12/18/09

The fact that Jon Arbuckle is a furry.

DCR Minus Comics

Monday is here and I now have my own internet connection so there shouldn't be anymore missed posts.

Today is a bit smaller than the norm.

9 to 5 10/26/09
9 to 5
It's amazing that so many cartoonists don't understand that jokes about Twitter aren't funny. It must be because none of them understand how Twitter actually works.

Garfield Minus Garfield 10/26/09
garfield minus garfield
I wouldn't normally comment on something like Garfield Minus Garfield, but this one stood out for me. It stood out because it doesn't seem to change very much with minus Garfield. Jon is still a sad, lonely loser regardless of whether or not Garfield is there to add a snappy line or not. Have all the good ones been done already?

tgif! But oh no, I'm late... again.

As you may have noticed, I'm building a very poor rep for myself by posting at the last minute. I mean, heck, this might as well be an early Saturday morning post, it's so late. Alas, perhaps I should set a Scheduled Task to yell "TIME TO REVIEW!" at me in the wee hours of the morning on Friday so I don't forget... anyway, on to the reviewing!

Chuckle Bros 5-29-09

Okay, the snake on the right doesn't have "new fangled" technology... that's definitely "new-mustachio'd" technology right there. All he needs now is a cowboy hat, a rocking chair, and a banjo.

Close To Home 5-29

No. Baaaad Mr. McPherson. Correct caption: "If Margy had known her father would be videotaping the wedding, she never would have gone through with it." OR "Margy wished she'd known her father would be videoing the wedding." OR "Margy now knew not to let her father videotape anymore of her weddings."

Garfield 5-29

I sure hope Garfield likes spider guts, 'cause he ain't gonna be getting any candy outta that arachnid-pinata!

Garfield Minus Garfield

In the strip without Garfield, Jon seems to be angry at himself (angrily calling himself "Mr. Funnyman"), because he regularly manages to screw things up - like the simple task of leaning over to tie his own shoes. Poor, strange little man.

Original strip, last panel - Garfield: "I'm forging new frontiers, like being a compulsive liar. Because I just told you that I wasn't tying Jon's laces together anymore, and then I did! Hahahaha."

Shoe 5-29

This strip caught my eye, not for reviewing purposes, but because it reminded me of a situation I had with my employer last weekend. He's in his mid thirties, and he's an HR manager at a rather large company. He asked me to please write up a short report of an event that was going to take place. I did, and gave it to him. The next day I received an email from him - the report that I'd just typed up, except with about a thousand grammatical & spelling errors inserted here and there. Thank God he signed his name to it, and not mine. Ugh, people.

The Flying McCoys 5-29

Boy (thinks to himself): "Oh, mom, how can I learn to stroke breasts when I've barely begun learning to stroke my own-- OH, she means the swimming maneuver."

Next Friday, somebody please stop by my house and gently insert a carnivorous earwig into my ear to remind me to REVIEW EARLIER. Kthxbye.
