Little turtle head poking out

Holy shit.  It's been almost a year since the last stupid post on this stupid site.  All the paid subscriptions to the comic strip websites are long dead.  I doubt anybody visits any more because it's obvoius this site is dead.  I personally haven't sat down and read a full comics page in a newspaper in a couple of years.  So why am I posting and not just letting this die a silent death?  F if I know.

I still follow a lot of web comics on twitter because they're funny people and KC Green had a crazy sale on all five of his Gunshow collections.  I had to get them.  Since I've started reading through them I am being reminded of how much I love comics.  And I think I want to start writing about them again.  Thanks KC!

Burn it all down

Are Mantises a Laugh Riot?

Tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, people. You better get out there and support your local comic shops. That's not all, though. Starting tomorrow, at the Meekrat Entertainment Group it's... well, I'll just let this explain things. Now then, onto the comic commentary. Without "Girls and Sports" because I don't feel like dealing with THAT today.

She shouldn't be worried at all. If she's anything like a real mantis, she bit off her husband's head while mating. Also, why do so many cartoonists love talking about mantises and their dietary habits? Is it really that much of a laugh riot? Unless you're talking about Space Ghost's Zorak, of course. He's a class act.

For some reason, I really like this. Toaster with a knife could be the sensational character find of April 2010.

KC Green does a really good job of imitating Gary Larson's style. It's probably worth mentioning that "Far Side" was the first comic I ever read, and its collections were the first comic strip collections I ever obtained. So I have an affinity for this.

Melancholic Ramblings

It's Friday again, folks. Time marches on, inexhaustible and unforgiving. To make the long trek towards your inevitable death less melancholic, why not take a look at Carafe? It has varied comedic stylings, and the current installment will teach you a valuable lesson. Or how about Time-Mind Sync-Warp? Today's nostalgia and misogyny flavored installment will make you feel bittersweet memories of years past and anger at the mistreatment of women. With that, let's focus on comics which appeared today in newspapers and Internets across the world, viewed by hundreds if not thousands of people. You should feel humble, a mere speck of sentience in a sea of humanity.

Off the Mark and Strange Brew, 01/29/10

We start off this lovely Friday with two panels with the same joke. This time, it's about how bears use the woods as a bathroom. We can't go anywhere but up from here, folks!

Arctic Circle, 01/29/10

Especially when we go to Renaissance-era full-frontal nudity. I know it's a work of art and all and you can't really see anything, but if that one old episode of "The Simpsons" is any indication, then people would still get into a huff about this. Especially since it's supposedly a newspaper strip.

Cathy, 01/29/10

If I were Cathy, I'd probably have killed myself years ago. But if I were Cathy in today's strip, then I wouldn't get too excited. Irving is probably smart enough to realize you're holding the DSL cable or whatever, and he intends to plug it back in. Then again, he did marry Cathy, so we can't be sure he's very smart at all.

Moose and Molly, 01/29/10

They never found Moose's body after this ill-fated sled trip.

Gunshow, 01/29/10

I have a question, comic strip. How did that dog survive the fall? Unless it's Demidog. Then it makes perfect sense.

xkcd, 01/29/10

This comic only makes me feel sad for the poor robot. I shall go weep with sadness, and eat cookies in order to make the sadness end. It will not work: I do not have nearly enough cookies.

With that, have a good a weekend folks.

Rumblo at the Gunshow

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for not deleting our website from your bookmarks after my return post yesterday! Feels good to be back, and even though it's only my fellow authors leaving comments, I do enjoy the feedback! It's a dirty job but someones got to do it, WOA OH OHHHH OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Gunshow

Gunshow definitely has a more adult feel to it than yesterdays comic - complete with violence, gore and plenty of swearing! KC Green features single daily comics and also runs full story lines, including one of my all-time favorite web comic groups The Anime Club (shown above).

Inane humor is the name of the game once again, and since you've somehow learned to put up with it on this site, you'd probably love what Mr. Green has put together. He has worked in the past on several other great web comics, including Horribleville, and he is the creator of Dickbutt (see him and buy a t-shirt here!)

I mean, Demidog? Seriously? That is fricken hilarious.

Alright, now that I've just enlightened you all with my cold-medicine ramblings I'm gonna go pass out. Oh and by the way, I'd love any suggestions you guys have for other bad ass web comics, and I will be getting back to daily comics again soon.
