The Friday Shorties Comic Review
Sorry about yesterday folks, today we have a double dose! Also that thing I said about new Wednesday content is being moved to Thursdays before it even premiers. That doesn't mean it will kick any less ass though. TGIF
Funky Winkerbean 1/15/09
"Oh sure coach, it was no problem. High school boys will do almost anything for the illusion of potentially receiving a handjob some time in the future."
Shoe 1/15/09
Shut the hell up Shoe! This isn't funny because it would never ever happen, and any kid old enough to rock a backwards hat isn't going to be playing house. Stupid birds!
The Amazing Spider-Man 1/15/09
In a world where water physics are completely out of touch with reality, only one man has the power to get totally owned by a fire hydrant.
Frank and Ernest 1/16/09
Everything in this strip except for the floor looks like it has been horribly mutated by too much radioactive waste. Either that or I need to give Fallout 3 a break.
Alley Oop 1/16/09
Isn't it ironic that the strip continues to do the exact thing one of the main characters is railing against? Is this possibly a sign that the Benders will stop their multiple month masturbatory self congratulation of taking this worthless strip to the 75 year mark and start a new storyline next week? Don't be surprised if you're disappointed on Monday.
Annie 1/16/09
Does anybody get Annie in their local newspaper any more? The last month of Annie has been the best stretch of a serial comic I have ever read. We've had a prison escape/car chase with liberal application of grenades and a megalomaniac front man who was killed by a guy just trying to defend himself, who ends up getting burned up in the company furnace by his own security force. I'm not sure you can actually print something this interesting in the funny pages any more.
Momma 1/16/09
Has anybody listened to the ridiculously inappropriate Adam Sandler comedy CD They're All Gonna Laugh At You? There is a sketch on there about a mom who... well... lets just say she encourages her kids to do some things of the self-indulgent nature. From now on I am going to pretend Momma in this strip is the mother from that sketch. It makes it exponentially better.
The Phantom 1/16/09
"Somebody grab a scalpel, it's kidney time!"
