We now interrupt your regular programming for this late breaking news...
Time for the weekly news from your favorite combination of letters(that equals me).
From 1/13/09:
You may remember a story about coffee growers and Mike Peters creator of Mother Goose & Grimm. They were suing him for $20 million for a comic strip. Well now they have dropped the lawsuit. Representatives of the federation have met with Peters and accepted his apology. They have also invited him to travel to Columbia and see how coffee is grown.
Yeah, they want to show him "how coffee is grown". The same guy that they alleged had accused them of grinding humans in with the coffee. Seems to me they just got a great idea from his strip and want to test it out. Either that or they realized that no one would rule in their favor against a fucking comic strip writer.

The strange world of Mr. Mum has returned!
Wait, you don't know Mr. Mum? Well, join the rest of the world and let me give you some vague info about him. It was a single panel comic from the 60's, obviously there were no speech or thought balloon owing to the fact his name is Mr. Mum(DUH!). Don't get excited though, cause you have to pay to see the comics. The original creator died a while back and this seems like it's just a money grab by his relatives. I don't think it's going to work; why would anyone pay for a comic that hasn't been in circulation for over 30 years?

Wifeswap wants cartoonist.
Any cartoonists reading this, you should head over to ABC so you can get in on the fun. Everyone knows that being on Wifeswap can make you a star. You could be the janitor for a hollywood writer instead of writing your own ideas. Added bonus of having a stranger in your house yelling at you and your kids.
Stories appear via the Daily Cartoonist
Also, any cartoonists reading this should get in touch with Brian Hall, I believe he is still looking for a cartoonist.
Good night and remember to tip your baristas.

I think the point of the Mr. Mum site is that the people who inherited the rights have hundreds of Phillips original prints and oil paintings for sale. I think anyone who inherits something of that magnitude would want to auction or sell those items.
let me take a wild guess. They are introducing the comic Mr. Mum because, like you said, most people have not heard of the cartoon. Why not introduce it again?
my point is this: if the comic is so good, why did it dissappear in the first place? you can't even view the archives without paying, if they wanted to sell original artwork i would be fine. them wanting to sell even views of the comic makes it seem like a money grab
xy you always seem to make these news posts on the same day I can't manage to get a post up. It's like you're a magical posting angel.
Never read Mr. Mum, and if I have to pay for just a single comic, I will never read it
