You, Sir, Are Detached From the Genuine World

I hope you enjoy my creative and demeaning mood today, tossed with a generous dose of oblivion. Don't forget to vote in our poll for worst comic of February! Yay!

John McPherson continues his war on reality with this awful panel. Hospitals have elevators and gurneys now-a-days, so this course of events would never happen today or even for the last 5o years. Here we have another example of thinking up a joke and then trying to build a scenario around it, then falling on your face.

Apparently Norm and Bridgette get their food at the same store as Herb and Jamaal. Only here the joke is about the food where with H&J the joke is.... well there isn't one.

The fact that his son was bringing yet another nameless love interest over for dinner failed to rouse his interest. The family ate in silence, for after all these years there was nothing left to say to each other that would not result in hurt feelings and the reemergence of painful memories. He was the leader of the household, but with his soul broken no one within the family felt like living much any more. Half way through the main course he raised his head as if to speak. Their ears perked up, eyebrows raised and attentive; had something positive happened today? "May I have the salt please" he muttered. The silence quickly returned, eyes back to their plates as they were once again reminded that nothing would ever change. There was no hope.
