Did you guys know that 10 years ago today Michael Jordan officially retired from the NBA? He came back for a little fun later but that was pretty much it. MJ was my favorite sports figure growing up, and I still think of him as the best bball player ever. I hope to one day be for blogging what Jordan was for basketball. I've got a long way to go...

You've got to have a perfectly round and smooth head to pull off that bottle nipple trick. He's going to have two huge discolored spots on his head when he finally releases that suction and takes them off. They look kinda like hickeys. Don't ever ask me why I know these things.

And we've got an early contender for worst drawn cat of the year! Lets observe. There are no purple cats. His head looks striking similar to a guys junk. About the only cat-like thing about it is that it's just sitting there, doing nothing.

That thing on the couch in Arlo & Janis looks like a deformed Shmoo, (if it's even possible for a Shmoo to be deformed.)
Way back in the early 90s, there used to be a comic strip in the Daily Texan about Nutty the Nutsack Squirrel. Anyway, he was basically a giant nutsack on a little squirrel body and he looked remarkably (if my drug-addled memory serves me right) like our purple shmoo cat here. Perhaps it's a subtle ode to the Nutsack?
