Once More in to the Breach

Heathcliff 12/17/08

Let me explain here. You see, Heathcliff hates the gays.

The Phantom 12/17/08
The Phantom 12/17/08
This may be the only time in recorded history that this sentence has been used. Maybe once or twice by some racist-ass McDonalds drive-thu employee used it, but besides that I think Phantom can Trademark it.

Wee Pals

Mikki's mom has led a hard life and sometimes she needs a nip or two to make it through the day. If she wants to make "tired" the new "drunk" she's mighty justified. Imagine if your elementary age daughter was wearing hooker-hoop earrings around; maybe now you can sympathize.

Mandrake The Magician 12/17/08

Oh no, please don't Mandrake! I've been getting in to the last weeks-worth of absolutely nothing happening. Just because you wrapped up the "Bookworm" storyline last week doesn't mean you can't have a few days off, but M here has been looking off at the wall while his wife keeps on living since at least Monday.

Just because you can't draw doesn't mean you can't be a cartoonist! What's that you say, can't come up with funny jokes either? No problem! You pride yourself on creating undeciferable t-shirt images that confuse and aggravate our readers? How about a syndication deal! Imagine my surprise when I found out I'm not the only anti-tulip-shapped-hand-grenade person out there.

I normally like Heathcliff.

This was meh.

Snoopy did it better.

Heathcliff is better than Garfield because he can't talk.

And that Wee Pals looks ancient, and the people look like they're in blackface.

And here it is, as I promised:

As for Heathcliff - I came to a similar conclusion.

My sister used to use "gay" as an insult. Clearly, whoever writes Heathcliff feels the same way. Or thinks that it fits Heath's character.

There's a huge discussion about this over at Comics I Don't Understand.

FTR, I told my sister off for using "gay" as a substitute for stupid.
