Lazy Saturday Comics 6/28/08

The Quigmans 6/28/08

This one is for my amazing wife, who is always able to turn any sports event I happen to be watching in to some sort of gay sex analogy, which helps me never take them too seriously.

And then when they grow up, it evolves to "Shit!"

The horribly boring storing of How Alley Met Dinny is finally over. I'd like to nominate Alley Oop's rhyming idiot friend for worst comic sidekick 2008. We might actually have to go back through and do some kind of awards when next January rolls around!

Have you written one about how the guy who does the comic "Zits" should be murdered?
If you are going to make a comic strip character that is a generic caricature of an American teen, why not give him a more timeless look? I mean teens have been wearing chuck taylor shoes for about 50 years. They will always be the standard for teens in bands like this kid is supposed to be.Put some chuck-looking footware on the kid. Instead he's got huge pillow shaped overbuilt monstrosities that no one has worn since the 90's, which do go well with his awful baggy flannel shirt the likes of which no one has worn since, once again, the 90's.
Yet, the strip didn't debut until like, what 2006 or something? Plus there should be a rule where if someone tries to mimic the Calvin and Hobbes art style again they should be instantly killed.
At least Alley Oop and (the always horrendous) Blondie still have that classic cartoon look, even if they've never ever been funny.
