Haiku Comics Review 6/26/08

Comic strips are great!
They make me laugh all the time
at how bad they are.

Beetle Bailey 6/26/08

There's nothing quite like
the hilarity of a
homeless kid ha ha!

Judge Parker 6/26/08

With that jacket and
those glasses, Sams the last one
I'd ask about style.

The Phantom 6/26/08

Finally the fight!
This behemoth has his wrench,
Kit has the speedos!

Mr. and Mrs. Ghost-Who-Wears-The-Tights really oughta stop calling each other by their first names in public. Have they been taking secret identity lessons from Peter Parker or something?

And today's Beetle Bailey is an example of a comics pet peeve: the invention of a character trait for the sake of a one-off joke. I mean, Rocky's been in this strip for what, 167 years, and this is the first we hear of his childhood trauma? Tomorrow: Killer comes out of the closet. Saturday: Zero wins Nobel Prize.
