Friday the 13th comic scare!
I'm not big on superstition so I wont be taking any special precautions, but if that's your thing then I hope no black cats jump off ladders and scratch your eyes out. Sorry about today, I slept like 5 hours last night so I'll probably be half as good as I regularly am which means today is going to be freaking horrible.
Single and Looking 6/13/08
How could you not love the absurdity of this strip? Girl loves anthropomorphic bear thing, bear thing wont give her the time of day.
Overcompensating 6/12/08
Jeffrey Roland, you need to get you stuff together! I expect my favorite web comic to update more than twice a week, and late at that! Yesterdays strip wasn't posted until after the Thursday Haiku Comics Review but I think the message still needs to be conveyed. This whole "Rick Roll" thing wasn't funny the first time, so every sequential playing just makes it worse. It's not in the same vein of pranks as Goatse or 2 girls 1 cup, that things you can't unsee - ever, but it is a huge annoying waste of time. The next person who rick-rolls me is getting banned forever... from my life.

Just once, I'd like to see a comic strip where a really good-looking guy has a relationship with, or is attracted to, a downright ugly woman or anthropomorphized-animal female. It's always a cute girl and an ugly guy or ugly mammal. (Or, in the case of Liberty Meadows, a duck.)
This probably has something to do with wish fulfillment on the part of ugly male cartoonists, but it smacks of sexism to me, and I can't help but think about it every time I see a strip like this.
I know, I'm taking it way too seriously. But it happens so damn often. From Blondie and Dagwood right down to the present day.
It's a very interesting point you're making and one that I have never really thought about so thanks for pointing it out. There are some strips where a good looking/normal guy is with a less attractive woman but they always involve the man being resentful of their relationship. I'll keep this in mind in the future
Are you, by any chance, a goon?
I think my biggest problem with that overcompensating strip is the size of the giant bug's apple device.
That shit should be microscopic in 1000+ years.
I'm not a goon but I've been thinking it might be a good way to boost readership of the site
Perhaps, it would definitely depend on where you post it... I've had an account there a little over a year and rarely post, myself...
Great job, BTW. Your blog is one of the ones I read daily :D
