Manic Monday

by Hal Bent

Holy crap, I do exist!  yes, the exile is over...I somehow had less free time that I thought I would have after my work had expanded.  Sorry to all the loyal readers (I should just thank all three of you personally!), but I am back and in top rank form as usual (wait, I never was? Well, whatever. Delusion is a requirement for blogging).  Anyways, this Monday is extra manic, so forget me sitting here apologizing for falling off the face of the (comic strip) world--and on with the show!

9 Chickweed Lane by Brooke McEldowney:

I see in two weeks nothing has changed on Chickweed Lane. Same obsessing over Sven.  Though that is a Gene Simmons-tastic tongue.  Haven't seen that since the KISS comics over at Marvel back in the day. Well, that's not true: I never read KISS comics (high heels, make-up, Paul Stanley's high voice? Nope, I had enough issues wearing hand-me-downs when I had nine older sisters, thank you very much!).
Still, that tongue in panels two and (especially) four is seriously freaking me out...gotta move on but I can't pull my eyes away from it...

Ziggy by Tom Wilson & Tom II:

Tom Wilson & Tom II finally respond to my relentless and non-stop Ziggy bashing.(I should have led off the blog with Ziggy, but I can't tear my eyes from that tongue).  Silly Toms, I hardly represent the "Whole Internet", though I imagine that Ziggy uses the Internet to Google himself and to log-in to Match.com.  I can see how that limited view of the 'net would makes the Zigster believe that the entire online community detests him and insults his intelligence...what a pants-less moron.

Tank McNamara by Bill Hinds:

I just have to say bravo to Tank McNamara for having a tablet as a news source and the morning espresso.  More creativity than 500 or so other strips this morning!  I like as well that they gave the guy getting shut out of the love-making club as a stodgy old newspaper buyer. Hah! Take that for being off-line and irrelevant (though I still enjoy newsprint on the fingertips, I hardly ever buy a paper anymore).

Ugh. 9 Chickweed Lane. I just don't understand it. Have you ever seen two women, walking along, discussing their personal lives, saying things like, "do you have any thoughts to lend clarity"?

I do like that last comic you posted. I'm not familiar with the the particulars of their argument, I can tell you that the dialogue on both sides rings true.
