The 'B' Grandparents Are Here

It's been pretty dead here lately. I didn't realize just how dead until today rolled around and I noticed the last post was mine from last Sunday. Well, I only have a few comics for today but let's get started.

Peanuts
I never liked Lucy and Linus' blanket-hating grandmother. Where are Linus' parents in this to explain that this is how they are raising their son? Maybe to keep the peace they just keep quiet about it and just hope that she passes away sooner rather than later.

La Cucaracha
Sadly, jokes about Superman's citizenship will become pointless when the DC relaunch begins in September.

Did I say "sadly"? I meant "gladly".

Born Loser
Reruns of the news? I find that a bit...made up. And why does Brutus watch the episodes again? He does realize that some cable networks have new shows during the summer, right? TNT, USA, AMC have a slew of shows on that air just during the summer. I mean, Breaking Bad is coming returning in July!!

Actually, some local newscasts have been re-running their 10:00 PM reports around 2:00 AM.

My local ABC affiliate, for example, has re-run their daily 10:00 PM newscasts at 12:35 AM.

And Headline News used to be like that before their format change, as well.

That makes sense. The examples here are clearly from several months ago, though.

Good to see you're still posting. It was alternating between you and Stupid Inventor for awhile and when he didn't post I wondered if this blog might be dead.

The only thing I could think of for Born Loser was that the "fake news" comedy shows (Daily Show, etc.) do sometimes go on long breaks and the re-runs are sometimes laughably out of date. The fake news shows I've seen usually don't have sports and weather though...

If it wasn't for Brutus' modern-ish TV, I would think the author of The Born Loser still thinks it's 1957.
