If You Want These Posts to Continue...
If you check out my other site, you might know that I've starting threatening my readership by holding my weekly recaps of Spider-Man, Phantom, and Mandrake hostage until I am either given money or attention for things other than the weekly recaps. If you don't want this to happen to my stuff here at the Daily Comics Review, well, you know what to do. In this instance, just taking a look at my site will do. Maybe leaving a comment or two. So then, here's the DCR post.
Mary Worth
The psychiatrist (or whatever he is) lying on his couch represents him allowing Mary Worth to help make him feel better mentally. While Mary Worth always meddles, I think this might be the first time someone has willingly laid back and taken it. Mary is probably loving this.
Jump Start
"Jump Start" is one of those comic strips that straddles the line between fantasy and reality. While real stuff happens to real people, there's also a dog that thinks he's people, past and future versions of the characters popping in occasionally, and things like this. However, while I'm readily willing to accept those other things (especially since a lot of it is heard second-hand from Crunchy, Joe's partner on the force) the Sock-Ness Monster just pushes the bounds of believability for me, for some reason. Is it just a random foot in a sock, or is it someone's foot in a sock? Big Foot is just another matter entirely.
Off the Mark
Nothing much to say here, just that I like it when comic strips do things like this. The characters also look on model, which is always good. I also have to wonder how many cartoonists have drawn Calvin since the strip ended. It must number in the dozens, by now.

Most days I Off the Mark doesn't even register but this one was clever.
"I Don't Like Mondays" was about a girl who murdered 2 people and shot 9 others. Oh Garfield, you're so irreverent!
