Birds and the Bees, Bad Karma, Ignorance, Grimace, and Freakish Walking Armless Torsos

Ready to start off your weekend right with a healthy dose of the Daily Comics Review? No? Too bad, because it's go-time. If this is too intense for you, then maybe you should go check out the brand-new web-comic Time-Mind Sync-Warp or the even brand-newer web-comic Carafe. I have to warn you, though: Carafe will rock your socks clean off. Now then, on with the whatever it is I'm here to do!

Daddy's Home and The Pajama Diaries, 01/15/10

I just like it when two strips have the exact same premise on the same day. Pajama Diaries has been doing this all week, though. As for Daddy's Home, there is an app for that. It's called pornography.

Funky Winkerbean, 01/15/10

Once again, I don't know where they're getting this whole vibe that Montoni's is untouchable. I mean, let's look at all the stuff that's happened to Funky and his immediate family:
-Alcoholism
-First wife divorced him due to alcoholism
-Nephew got into a car crash, nephew's girlfriend lost her arm
-Nephew joined the army and was a prisoner of war on two separate occasions
-Unseemly weight gain
-Funky's son is a little punk
Not to mention the fact that Montoni's itself nearly burned down years ago. In fact, only Pete and Crazy Harry seem to be somewhat untouched by ill tidings. Which means we can expect one or both of them to have life kick them in the teeth very soon.

Hi and Lois, 01/15/10

While Chip is hardly a man about town, we've seen him with girls plenty of times. Does Ditto not remember this? Also, what's with them drawing Chip's eyes? He's supposed to be like his uncle, Beetle Bailey, with his hair covering his eyes and whatnot. Or perhaps Ditto is just surprised that Chip likes the ladies? Who knows, or cares, really.

Housebroken, 01/15/10

That's not the freaking Grimace. Grimace is a giant pear-shaped purple monstrosity. That thing is more like a mobile potato.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete Sillies, 01/15/10

I know I don't normally comment on web-comics (even though I read about thirty of them daily with varying amounts of pain/enjoyment. Ctrl+Alt+Delete is more on the pain end of the spectrum, its little side-project up there a bit less so) but I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've seen the bottom half of these character designs, and my god, seeing these armless torsos walking around is about the creepiest thing I've seen in a fortnight.

For some reason, it's not creepy when Gunshow does it. Which is probably why I totally failed to register that Gunshow does it.
