Web Comics are Where It's At
It's not often that I can find a laugh-out loud comic in the newspaper comic section, more often eliciting groans at poorly written attempts at humor. That's why I enjoy this blog so much, but I do have to say that there are so many web comics by individuals without distribution deals and syndication out on the web. These guys (and gals) are busting their hump, usually while pulling down a nine-to-fiver and doing this fantastic creative work in their free time for very, very little money. That's why today I am going to emphasize a few of my favorites here (and why I always mix in a few web-only comics) to start off the last day of February.
ToonHole by Ryan Kramer:
Here's the web comic strip summary from the creator: We draw shit.

Evil Inc by Brad J. Guigar:
Let's see: super-heroes? Check. Creative take on super-villains? Check. Female super-heroes in tight costumes? Check. Sexual innuendo and campy puns? Check. OK, it's official: Evil Inc has everything that the distinguished web comic reader could ask for in 2 or 3 panel daily. Here's the web comic strip summary from the creator: Captain Heroic, the most prominent super-hero in the city, is secretly married to Miss Match, an Evil Inc villain who works in the plots and schemes department... Evil Inc is a company, founded by Evil Atom, that provides good and services to the super-villain community. Many, but not all of the employees are super-villains themselves.

I Am Arg! by Andrew Gregoire:
Here is the most recent I am Arg! comic from creator Andrew Gregoire. Well drawn, smart, and ass steaks for everyone to enjoy. Consistently funny and posting a few times a week, this is another great site worth reading. Personally, I thought the Valentine's Day cards were top notch. A bit too "hard-R" or NSFW for this site, but I'll link it here: http://iamarg.com/2013/02/13/valentinesday/
Here's the web comic strip summary from the creator: I am Arg is a semi autobiographical non sequitor humour strip filled to the brim with jokes about gaming, geek culture girls and Genitalia.
