Web Comics and Peking Duck

I'm going to be all over the map today.

First, those of us that are lucky enough to write for DCR get occasional goodies forwarded to us from Bryce. Last week we got an extra-special one:

People That Melt In the Rain

I really like this strip a lot! Great pencils, great idea, and wonderful characters. I like it enough that I bought a copy of #0 over here.

There's a trailer too:

But I wanted to give you a sample of the strip also.

Nowhere Man

I really, really, hate air travel. A few weeks I had to make a trip that I had been dreading for a couple of years. Even under less stressful conditions I try to have as many distractions prepared as I can for both directions. So, when I was returning home from Charlotte I had an iPad packed with old issues of Ultimate Spider-Man to pass the time.

While we were on the plane the gent next to me noticed the comics and we struck up a conversation. He tipped me off about an online comics project he is involved with. (As well as "Ex Machina," with the excellent Tony F'ing Harris pencils — which I just remembered and ordered some TPBs of.)

I really like the detail in the backgrounds, and I am very curious to see where this story takes us.

On to the Comics

Wait...is the strip ending? I can hope.

So, how easy is it to make fun of people recycling plots when you have none? As a matter of fact, how easy is it to make fun of people recycling plots when your strip is so f**king obtuse I'm not even sure that you are making fun of people recycling plots?

This is the closest you will get to a laugh in a strip that has Hagar the Horrible in it this year.
