The Late Show

Very late with today's post. I should have known that probability of picking someone up at JFK going smoothly was about as likely as getting a laugh from Garfield.

Pearls

Always good for a laugh, however dark and twisted.

Tina's Groove

This strip is new to me. What's going on here?

Tarzan Classics July 13, 2010
Tarzan

This storyline has been going on for a while now and I have been meaning to mention it. Think this would fly in today's climate? It's interesting that the author (Burne Hogarth? Russ Manning? The scan is, as usual, too poor to read the credits,) manages to spin this as doing the women a favor.

This made me laugh out loud. Literally.

Pickles July 13, 2010
Pickles

This is so stupid that Photobucket didn't want to give me the embed code to place the image here. "Old and in the way" is 5 syllables. "O.A.I.T.W" is five syllables and more difficult to say. "Old And In The Way" is also one of the Grateful Dead spin off bands and they don't deserve to have their name sullied in this terrible strip.

Take that, World Cup!

Take an expert's word for it.

Drabble

OMG. Drabble made me laugh.

Funky OhGodJustEndItAllBean July 11, 2010
Funky Winkerbean

So, I called it on Funky. Of course, guessing that Funky Winkerbean is going to take a depressing turn is like guessing the sun will set anywhere outside of the North or South poles.

That's not why I included this strip though. I often pick on Funky for being a cup of steaming depression, and I am far from alone. I included this strip to demonstrate that characters actually do get a chance to find some peace.

Of course, it takes a horrible car accident, but hey....who's counting?

See you here next week. Don't forget my dog training blog. It's usually at least as funny as Garfield and not half as depressing as Funky.

Tina's Groove is a Canadian strip, dutifully run by the largest Canadian chain of papers (the only possible reason it's still around, coz if it wasn't Canadian content there'd be no reason to run it), and is entirely bereft o' laffs. Don't waste even a microsecond on it. Nothin' to see here.

PS: Enjoy the blog. Cheers
