The Wizard of Disco

I'm recovering nicely, but still feeling a bit crappy. As a result you only get two comics today.

Dog Eat Doug 10/19/09

Who knew that cows were so smart? It almost makes you feel bad that we treat them so badly and them eat them.

Almost.

Scary Gary 10/19/09

Well little monster, I'll tell you who wants to dress up for Halloween. Gay Frankenstein monsters, that's who.

Also, if they were a couple, wouldn't they want to have costumes that go together? Even though they're both gay icons, Cher and Judy Garland just don't go together. One is classy and the other is tacky. One has talent and one doesn't. I'll let you decide which is which.

I hear people rave about Scary Gary...I keep trying to give it a chance, but I'm not on board yet. This is an example of why. Gay stereotypes can be funny, just like anything if done right, but this was pretty lazy.

Watch for the "volunteerism" theme in this week's comics. Already caught it at Wizard of ID and Mother Goose and Grimm. I'll expect to this "theme" this week in the comics.

Is it sad that I thought the Dog Eat Doug was really funny?

Not the whole comic, but the punchline was great!
