Drama, Comedy, Sadness We Have All These Things On DCR Saturdays
Greetings and welcome to the Saturday edition of the Daily Comics Review. It's more like a week in review of the crappiest comics, but that's neither here nor there.
Wow, I kind of hate myself for saying neither here nor there. Oh well, just another thing to hate me for.
Here's the best of the worst (I think).
PC and Pixel 4/2/09
How many people here have been to a video rental store in the last 6 months? None right? There is no need for rental stores anymore. If not for old people, they would have gone out of business long ago. With Netflix and iTunes and thievery, there is no need to physically go to a store and look at all the crap. You can just go to the internet and get 100 movies for nothing, if you choose to thieve, and you can just delete them if they suck.
PC and Pixel is, therefore, a comic that is out of date.
Oh wait, that applies to all comic strips.
Moe 3/31/09
Bryce either really hates this comic or really wants me to destroy it with my anger because this is the second consecutive week he has sent it to me.
So how old are they anyway? It's pretty hard to tell. Is going to church really a date? Must be one of those New Age churches were everyone gets naked and smokes weed or something.
As to being sad and alone, what wrong with that? Being alone is just another way of saying 'not in the presence of assholes'. And being sad is another way of saying 'a state of anticipating better emotions'. That's why being sad and alone is the best thing to be.
I'm so sad and alone :(
Just kidding. I'm neutral and alone :)
The Dinette Set 3/30/09
There are so many things going wrong in this panel that it makes Marmaduke look like The Far Side.
That made me die inside to type that.
The guy on the right is an amateur porn star known as 'The Stocking Stuffer'. He apparently only does Christmas themed porn and uses crack instead of creamer in his coffee.
The guy on the left has traveled to another reality where Glengarry Glen Ross was an ice show instead of a movie. I hope to never travel to this reality as it is a horrible place, where all movies have been replaced by ice shows. He can't stop drinking coffee because of the horrible things he has seen in the alternate reality.
This family appears to live in a house where every picture must clearly state what is pictured. I don't know why anyone would ever need to have a picture of a clown.
I need to perform the act of emesis* now.
There will be a Webcomic of the Week later in the day.
*emesis means vomiting

PC and Pixel is also outdated because no one calls it VD anymore. But if you look at the background of the comic strip, everyone looks like they're living in the Depression Era (the old one, not the new one), so maybe it does make sense, except DVDs would then be very anachronistic.
I hate dinette set so much that I wish I didn't have to look at it here
Actually, I like the concept of "Glengarry Glen Ross on Ice." It's completely beyond the usual scope of Dinette Set humor, of course; it's more like something out of a Patton Oswalt standup routine.
Otherwise, this comic, as always, sucks.
I send you Moe because I love Moe, but I don't know why.
pretty ironic that a comic called "pc and pixel" is that out of date...and the worst part is that gag is sooooo worn out. The old "a letter falls of a sign making it a naughty word bit" has been done ad nauseum.
