The Friday Before Christmas Comics
Retail 12/19/08
Just because he drives a sketchy van doesn't mean the cops will automatically pull him over. Cooper is smart enough to know he's not black or a Mexican. I'm not racist, it's the cops! "While we're talking about my luck Val, would you mind ducking down under the dash board for a minute? I always see a patrolman on the other side of this hill."
Candorville 12/19/08
To take a minute away from the bitchfest, Condorville has been amazing this whole week. By taking current events and twisting them to make them funny and about a whole different thing, Darrin Bell takes the idea to a whole new place. Also in this case it sheds some light on the comic strip industry and how it is suffering with the huge drop in newspaper subscriptions across the globe. You have to love the extensive week-long cross-strip character interactions too. This may be the most original week of strips in recent memory.
Beetle Bailey 12/19/08
Nothing quite like military brutality to tickle the old funny bone! This comic strip doesn't even belong on the "humor page".
Whenever I find something new and wonderful I like to share it with my readers here. Today I was exposed to the awesome "Scott Meets Family Circus". If you dislike the Family Circus as much as I do, you will enjoy this site. It is relatively new and there is not a lot of content, but I went back through all of his work and it made me laugh more than I have all week. CHECK IT OUT!
