Today, Mr. Stantis teaches us all a lesson what happens when we argue. We lose sight of what really matters. We can even loose sight of gravity's effect on matter. ;)
And no, it does not "matter" that we have no context of what they're arguing about. Those kind of details can only take you off point. And if you're looking for a punch line this week, just move on. Nothing to see here. Scott doesn't have time for humor, he's here to make vague and ethereal points about how we all need to listen more. Do you hear me, people? If only we would listen to each other! Hear me now, Stantis! Please stop!
As a part-time life coach, I know that clear communication is the key to any successful relationship. So Scott let me say this directly, these kind of larger truths should be left to more talented writers who have given themselves more than eight minutes to churn something out before that damn deadline comes around again.

Baldo: There is no actual fruit tree, planting and caring for the tree is a metaphor for raising and caring for a child so that he/she grows into a good person.
OK. I understand that.
What does Baldo's line in the last panel have to do with any of that?
So that his dad can be satisfied with what he's done to raise him? It comes off as really shallow and self-interested if that's the point. No?
