Back With A.,, Fizzle?
Hey everyone, Zachary the Stupid Inventor here! Sorry I haven't posted the past few weeks, but between all of the DCR drama and my own hunt for a job, I've been unable to write a comic review (But I did find a job, so yay!).
I was hoping to do an extra awesome review today in honor of my return, but most of today's comics were kind of "blah", either not funny enough to really post, or not bad enough to really analyze or nitpick, so its a bit of a small post. Let's begin, shall we?Brevity: Can somebody please explain this comic to me? I'm guessing this is making fun of the phrase "Cool As A Cucumber" by depicting a cucumber with nerd glasses, but if that's the gag it's pretty lame.
Barney and Clyde: I'm not sure I've posted this strip in my reviews, maybe once. Although I don't find the joke that funny, I love panels 2 and 3. The framing in panel 2 is really great, and the visual gag in Panel 3 is very well drawn. The fact that Panel 1 and 4 are almost identical make the visual gags in the middle stand out even more.
Heart of the city: I post this strip a lot, but just noticed a cool trick that I myself hope to use in drawing my own comics. By not actually showing the mother until the 3rd panel, it gives the cartoonist more room to be visual in the panels. Smart!
Ok, that's it for me, see you next time!

Brevity: It's a red herring! The joke is actually about the tomato having a hamburger for lunch, since it undoubtedly has ketchup on it, if not an actual tomato slice. Cannibal tomatoes! NOT cool!
should be calling it the "Weekly Daily Comic Review" no?
