Sunday January 11th
Alley Oop:
OH, god, not this again.
You know, I want to say something, I truly do, but damn where is the plot? Oop looks at the pictures from so-called plans and kinda-sorta breaks the fourth wall? Also, I investigated this "all over" claim and one pic so far has come from Guam, which is listed as "Guam, USA," so I don't think that counts.
This is worse than the annual top ten list that Pluggers runs.
I hope they end it before the 100th anniversary.
I'm adding a new comic to my Sunday morning bashings, Andy Capp. I remember reading it in the local paper a few years ago before they changed the comics page. He has a wife named Flo and likes the booze a bit too much. And I've never tried the hot fries.
Onto the comic:
And, OH, what I have been missing.
No, this is not a lame joke about how lazy Andy is, it is some a metatextual comment on the state of humor comics in the Sunday paper - notice how they seemingly stretched out a weekday gag rather than come up with something long enough for Sunday?
Equally lazy as Andy's actions.
Now, a normal comic reader would grumble about the shortness, but a truly enlightened commenter and reader (who got an A+ in Literary Heritage Honors and is not bragging nor is she nervous about classes tomorrow, no sir) sees the clever satire. Bravo, Mssrs Mahoney and Kettle. (Notice, neither share the original creator's last name. Oh, those wacky Brits!)
