Spinach, Shadows, and Desk Chairs

Hey everyone!
Zachary the Stupid Inventor here with this Wednesday's comic review!
I couldn't find any REALLY bad strips this week, I mean Girls And Sports was bad but not especially bad, so we just have Nitpicks and Good strips today!

Nitpicks:

Chuckle Bros.: The gag is ok, but I felt that the cartoonist zoomed out way more than he should have. so much space is wasted on the room, when the whole punchline is the book title, which is now in tiny print because of the layout. I think it should have been drawn zoomed in to the bed, with the bed laying along the length of the strip and the father reading the book on the far right of the panel. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!

Beetle Bailey: I get the gag, that repairmen take so long to come when the thing needs fixing immediately, but does anyone ever get their desk chair repaired? When my desk chair breaks i just buy a new one, and I'm currently using a hand-shaped plastic chair to sit on by my desk.... (yeah i'm a weirdo). My point is the cartoonist had to stretch reality in order to get his gag to work, and it shows....

The Flying McCoys: Not too long ago when I was in High School, I drew a panel cartoon about Popeye getting kicked off a basketball team for using spinach... a few months after an editorial cartoonist did a cartoon about Popeye being kicked off a baseball team for using spinach (this was the time when the whole steroid scandal first started). My point is a lot of times, ESPECIALLY when dealing with gag-a-day cartoons that have to riff on pop culture, more than one cartoonists are going to come up with the same idea. Just remember that the next time somebody calls "plagiarism"... I highly doubt either cartoonist snuck into my school notebook to steal my idea, these things just happen.

The Good
Pros And Cons: This strip really made me laugh, I love the expression of the patient in the third panel.
Brewster Rockit: This continues to be one of the funniest strips, it should really be more popular.
The Doosies: Does this strip appear in any newspaper? It's really funny and I love the little cartoon commentary on the bottom. Also check out Tom Gammills videos on youtube, they are HILARIOUS!

Daddy's Home: Funny strip, but I'm curious what you all think about the use of a silhouette in the second panel? Do you think it looks better than doing a fully drawn side view or not? I should try it in my strip.

Anyways, that's it for today's comic review!!
See you all next time!

Chuckle Brothers is just an all-around suck kiss of a comic

I like the silhouette... at least it breaks up the monotony of having 3 panels that are almost artistically identical.
