2 naked kids rear ended by the entire herd

Let me start out by saying that I'm disappointed with the lack of stoner comics that I found today. I figured there'd be one or two... but not in the batch I looked through. Oh well.

I spent a while on Wikipedia today trying to prove why my webcomic deserves to have some space there. If you're on Wikipedia as a contributor/editor/admin, help me out!

Anyway, here's some comics. Some I like, some I dislike.

I felt the need to give this strip a chance because Steve Skelton (or perhaps a minion) actually commented on yesterday's post, and that's cool. If he commented on The Underfold... I'd pretty much give him a golden ticket in every review... Just sayin'.

Anywho, being a socialist (at least in the original terms) really wasn't that bad, and it seems like this strip actually hints at that where everyone helps each other. But, like everything else, humans also have the capability to ruin everything they touch. As for this particular strip being "funny"... I'm not convinced. Sorry, Steve.

Someone said this comic was in reruns, so that might explain the Santa outfit... but come on. Isn't there a shred of editorial influence out there? A Christmas strip? Seriously? Heck, maybe this is the stoner comic I was looking for.

You know, cause you have to be stoned to appreciate it? Har har har, that genteel child wants cocaine. Blah.

I'm laughing... but I don't think it's necessarily for the same reason Fred Wagner intended. Unless it is...? Fred?

What kind of person draws two naked kids in complete confidence without any editor saying, "You know... this might look weird..." Because right now, I'm just seeing "Love is..." and two naked kids. That's a pedophile comic. Gross.

This is so close to being funny. I think if the dialogue had ended at "Talk to her??" The joke would be funnier, but I got caught up in how "she" would take his CDs and stuff. It's stupid, I know, but it's true.

Here's a math equation for you: Dinosaurs + Cavemen = BEFORE ZEBRAS.

You're on thin ice, B.C.

Okay, the end.

I don't think they've made new "Academia Waltz" strips since the late seventies. It was pre-"Bloom County", after all.

Yeah, Academia Waltz ran in the The University of Texas at Austin daily newspaper before Berke Breathed graduated and syndicated a little strip called "Bloom County".

But....you were kidding about not knowing it's "in reruns", right?

I'll bet there were zebras, or something pretty similar, at the same time as cave men. The problem with B.C. is humans and dinosaurs: there's a 65,000,000 year gap there.

And how come the female "Love Is.." child has nipples but the male one doesn't. That's really weird.

Actually, that strip (2 Cows and a Chicken) isn't supposed to be funny.....some strips are actually supposed to make you just think....and maybe evoke empathy and compassion for the characters.

Steve,

Thanks for the clarification, but it sure seems like you were going for a punchline in that last frame. Just sayin'.

Steve Skelton April 21, 2010 at 7:31 AM

Ah you're right....that was basically a punchline....so I suppose I was just being a little defensive.

Steve,

You're my new friend. Are you on Twitter or anything, cause you just gained a new follower! Humbleness is rad.

The apteryx in B.C. has me confused too, but I can tell you that the top line simplifies to one-fifth the square root of fifteen.
