Are You Ready for Some Football?

The United States Post Office are honoring several comic strips this year in their Sunday Funnies stamp line which comes out in July. The set commemorates Beetle Bailey, Dennis the Menace, Garfield, Archie and . I still have a whole pane of the 100 Years of Comics stamps the post office released in 1995 so I will probably get these too.

And I know this is late but I had other stuff to do. But every strip here is either Super Bowl or football related so enjoy.

Arlo & Janis 2/7/10

I'm pretty sure there are more beer commercials than four in the first half. I counted more like six.

B.C. 2/7/10

Apparently in the post-apocalyptic future B.C. takes place in, the Earth's Moon has been settled by little green men.

Born Loser 2/7/10

For exclusive commentary on this comic, go here.

Betty 2/7/10

Not being a sports fan, I do not understand when people get so into the game that they scream at the TV. But then again, I interact with the characters on my favorite TV shows.

Drabble 2/7/10

Yeah, because God forbid you just go to the bathroom during the game. Really, Drabble? Pee jokes?

Heathcliff 2/7/10

Heathcliff's burps are so powerful that they cause him to change colors.

The Meaning of Lila 2/7/10

I don't need a meaningless football game to tell me when to snack.

Blondie 2/7/10

I don't know what the hell is going on in the fifth panel but how often do you think Dagwood makes Blondie wear that ref's outfit in the bedroom?

Cathy 2/7/10

How hypocritical of Cathy. She looks exactly like that when she eats chocolate so she is also repulsive. What else is repulsive? The foreplay in the last panel.

Cleats 2/7/10

I would love to play football in the rain and mud. The other problem is that the only thing I really know about football is what kind of ball to use.

Daddy's Home 2/7/10

I didn't catch The Who during Half Time. I kind of thing Roger Daltrey breaking a hip would be funny.

Hi & Lois 2/7/10

You can tell it's a dream by the rounded panels.

And that's not Hi's knee in the last panel, it's his erection.

In the Bleachers 2/7/10

This gets my vote for funniest football themed comic today.

The Middletons 2/7/10

They don't make Super Bowl commercials like they used to. Remember in the '90s we had commercials that were memorable. The Budweiser frogs, among others. Now it seems the commercials are shown just during the Super Bowl and never seen again.

The New Adventures of Queen Victoria 2/7/10

The Tebow ad wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be but I agree, mind your own business.

Tank McNamara 2/7/10

Hey, look. It's Tank McNamara. (I got nothing here.)

I do not get the throwaway gag in B.C. "A cheeto in the bathtub"? What?

While the Superbowl was on while I was making comics, I mainly watched the Puppy Bowl.
